Concert Experience

CONCERTS STAFF 

As a member of UCLA’s Campus Events Commission (CEC), I helped bring a range of live music experiences to campus. From large-scale events like Bruin Bash and Hammer Arts Party to genre-focused concerts spanning indie rock, electronic, funk, and collaborations with student organizations.

My work on the Concerts Staff began well before show day. Throughout the year, I researched and scouted emerging talent, reviewed artist options, communicated with agents and industry representatives, and helped identify performers who fit each event’s audience, creative direction, and budget. Every concert called for a different approach, whether we were building an electronic festival, curating an indie lineup, or programming an event alongside UCLA’s Japanese Student Association.

Working across these projects strengthened my understanding of how talent selection shapes the identity of a live event. It also gave me the opportunity to constantly discover new music, track emerging artists, and think critically about which performers could resonate with UCLA’s diverse student audience (often months before they reached a larger mainstream audience).
